What is Scent work ?
Scent work is a dog sport that is becoming increasingly popular, Inspired by the work of scent detection dogs, we teach the dogs to locate a scent and how to communicate to the handler when they have found it. This is known as a 'Passive Search'.
WE WILL ONLY BE DOING PASSIVE SEARCHES FOR THE FIRST 6-8 WEEKS
Not only do we teach the dogs 'Passive' searches but we also teach them 'Active Searches' too. This means we teach them to find and retrieve scented objects and return them to the handler.
They are taught to search among numerous identical non scented objects and find and retrieve the ones that have been scented.
You will be taught be WSDA (World Scent Dog Association) Instructor
